What Bowflex Revolution® Home Gym owners are saying...

About a year ago my weight was 235-240 and I felt bad all the time. My doctor told me I needed to start exercising. I bought the Revolution, but never had the discipline to use it. After my doctor visit I decided it was time to get started. So I began working out pretty much every day and a year later I now weigh 200 with 18" arms and a 50" chest. The best thing I like about the Revolution is that my joints never hurt. I used to work out when I was in the Marine Corps and my joints would hurt due to the free weights. Now I am over 48 years old and working out harder than I used to with absolutely no joint pain. I just wanted to say thank you for your machine that has kept me going and I am sure will keep me going for years to come. I actually enjoy working out every day now.

SpiraFlex® Plates

Lightweight platesThe SpiraFlex® plates of the Bowflex Revolution® home gym enable smooth, consistent resistance through the entire range of motion, a principal ingredient in developing lean, strong muscle.

The versatility of these lightweight interlocking plates allows you to quickly and easily adjust resistance weight on the Bowflex Revolution® home gym from 10 to 300 lbs (up to 600 lbs with the leg press station) for a quiet, gym-quality workout at home.

SpiraFlex® technology duplicates the benefits of free weights and plate-loaded machines to deliver the smoothest, most versatile at-home workout available.

Compact Design

Space efficient for your home: Folds to 4½ft x 3ftThe Bowflex Revolution® home gym was conceived and designed to combine all the strength-building exercise equipment at your local gym into one machine that fits neatly in your home.

To meet this challenge, the engineers combined cutting-edge SpiraFlex® resistance technology with the geometrically designed cam system used for over 20 years in Nautilus® equipment.

The result is not merely a piece of fitness equipment but a self-contained, at-home gym with over 100 exercises, up to 400 variations and a range of resistance from 10 to 300 lbs, (up to 600 lbs with the leg press station). And it's all concentrated in one smart, space-efficient machine measuring just 9ft x 5ft, shrinking to 4½ft x 3ft when folded.

With the Bowflex Revolution® home gym, you get a gym-quality workout at home without sacrificing a lot of time or space.

Freedom Arms®

170° adjustable Freedom Arms®The unique variable independent pulleys, or Freedom Arms®, of the Bowflex Revolution® home gyms adjust 170° with 10 different settings so you can quickly and easily change the direction of resistance and work upper-body muscles from a variety of angles.

This versatility enables you to get a complete, gym-quality workout every time, varying your routine as often as desired to accommodate your developing fitness level.

Finally, because of the SpiraFlex® technology, every exercise with the Freedom Arms® delivers ultra-smooth, consistent resistance through the entire range of motion - an important ingredient in building lean, strong muscle.

Smoothness

Cam design delivers consistent linear resistance throughout the entire range of motion. The Bowflex Revolution® home gym delivers smooth yet strong gym-quality resistance that remains consistent through each exercise. The secret is the cutting-edge SpiraFlex® resistance technology.

Developed for use on the International Space Station, SpiraFlex® resistance provides even, consistent linear resistance necessary for building and maintaining lean, strong muscle. Lean muscle is the most efficient fat burner in the body.

Gone are the bulky, cumbersome weights common in many home gyms. SpiraFlex® resistance achieves its signature smoothness in part due to the heavy-gauge elastic straps powering its lightweight SpiraFlex® plates. As an exercise is initiated, the plate's bands tighten around a central pivot coil, creating resistance.

The Bowflex Revolution® home gym incorporates this revolutionary resistance technology with the geometrically designed cam to deliver linear, consistent resistance through the entire range of motion.

By combining the Bowflex Revolution® home gym's Freedom Arms® with SpiraFlex® technology, the Bowflex Revolution® home gym provides incredibly smooth movement through each exercise, no matter the weight.

International Space Station

Space Station strength-training technology now available at homeAs free weights are ineffective in the microgravity environment of space, the International Space Station needed another way for crewmembers to maintain muscle strength while in orbit. The answer was SpiraFlex® resistance technology.

Astronauts can expect to suffer a 1- to 2-percent loss in bone mass per month while in space. The diminished gravity also means that their muscles are not required to work as hard, greatly increasing the risk of muscle degeneration, or atrophy.

SpiraFlex® technology helps combat this deterioration by duplicating the benefits of free weights in a lightweight, safe, easy-to-use system. The smooth, consistent resistance allows the astronauts to build and maintain lean, strong muscle while in orbit and return to earth healthy.

The same technology is now available on earth

The versatile, compact Bowflex Revolution® home gym offers you the same benefits of consistent resistance that the astronauts enjoy. Even the toughest exercises feel smooth without the inertia commonly associated with free weights. Find out how easy it is to build lean, strong muscle fast.

Three years ago I was hurt and had to go to a wheelchair. I normally worked out at the gym every day, but after I got hurt. I wasn't for sure about how I was going to do that, then I looked at your ad for bowflex and of course did a lot of research. That's what got me to get the bowflex revolution and ever since I got the machine I have gotten better workouts and made more gains then all the years I spent in the gym. It's been over three years now and I workout on it. Five days a week, Monday through Friday.

I like that you can do a good workout in little time.

Comments about Bowflex Revolution Home Gym:

The BowFlex Revolution Home Gym is the best home gym money can buy. With the proper diet and a consistent routine , you can take your body to the shape you once had when in High School.
The machine is easy to use and once you read on how to set the arms angles and learn all the exercises , which will probably take days to weeks because they're so many of the exercises available.
The equipment has been built with the proper workout in mind and the perfect angles that hit the spot to reach that all important stretches to develop lean muscle mass.

If you don't have time to be at gyms when they're open ,or don't want to deal with the gyms population , this is your machine without question .

The difference between this machine and free weights , is you'll develope lean muscle mass and without the danger of injury . Incorporating the BowFlex Hone Gym with running or jogging and light free wrights you could give yourself a new dimension never thought attainable .

Comments about Bowflex Revolution Home Gym:

I want to be fit not just in my legs but my upper body as well. Seeing the bowflex Revolution makes me believe that with consistency and diet, I will be able to achieve my goal. However, this far the only problem that I have with the machine is removing the 20 and 40 pound resistance weights from the machine. It's very tricky and at one point, I just gave up trying to remove the weight until my husband got home.

Comments about Bowflex Revolution Home Gym:

I built my own home gym. Used to have pretty much every type of bench. They are all now obsolete. All I kept was an ab tower ( the Revolution replaces it but... had to keep something otherwise I would have developed depressions after all the money I spent on the old gear). Setting up is not difficult but it can be a bit tedious. The only problem I had was the internal part of rope slipping off the main pulley. It was easy enoug to figure out on my own however this is how I discovered the only part I dislike about this machine : the plastic body. Screws which hold it in place require a ridiculously long screwdriver and the overall feel is that of flimsy and cheap plastic. Could be a bit better and easier to open. I had to import the Revolution to Europe so for me there is no real servicing option. Other than that, this thing is spectacular. It has countless combinations of exercises, it runs smoothly and as far as efficiency goes, one 8 rep set feels like 3 sets with double the weight on a regular bench press( I weigh about 205 lbs and bench 210 lbs in sets of 10, on the revolution I could barely do 8 reps with 60 lbs of resistance). The arms swing very well, the bech and seat are great. Lastly, I appreciate the ease and speed with which you can switch from chest to shoulder to legs and so on. It really makes for an efficient and surprisingly powerful workout. Money really well spent.

Comments about Bowflex Revolution Home Gym:

When I was young, I was a gym rat, but over the years, I have gotten lazy when it comes to working out. I have wanted this machine for years, and I am so glad I finally bought it. It is HUGE, but it is easy to use (although not as easy as a Power Rod model), and you can do so many things with this machine simply by changing the arm position and your position.

I am now starting to work out regularly, and I can already feel a difference in how I feel and my energy level. Soon I hope I will be noticing the change in my body too. I really look forward to using this for several years -- first to help me lose weight and tone up and then to stay in shape.

I love this machine and would suggest it to anybody who can afford it.

FYI -- I paid for assembly and was VERY GLAD I did so.

I love the fact that you can easily change from one exercise to another without losing too much heart rate. I love that you can target each individual muscle and like the idea of the pamphlet coming with workout ideas. So far I am very impressed.

I have seen pictures on the internet of people using the Revolution machine and a type of harness to do squats. Does this machine come with that harness? If not, is it available?

Hi Scott. The Bowflex Revolution XP (upright) is the model of Revolution that came with the squat harness. The Bowflex Revolution (bench style) does not come with the harness, nor is it designed for use with the squat harness.

                  A:

Hi Jason! In home assembly services are available throughout the continental United States and most major areas of Canada for this machine. However, it was designed to be assembled by the home consumer. For transport from one place to another, you would not necessarily need to completely dis-assemble the machine. You could just remove the weight packs and tension bar and then move the whole machine fully assembled. There are transport wheels on the machine, and you would just need to put the machine into the folded position for ease of movement.

Hi Greg. The lat tower was an attachment specifically designed for use with the Bowflex Revolution XP home gym. It was not compatible with the bench-style Revolution. Please also note that the Revolution XP was retired several years ago, and any attachments for that machine, including the lat tower, were retired at the same time and are no longer being produced.

I am interested in the aerobic rowing capabilities. However, I am not seeing a video for it and the instructions are not very through, as with other exercises. I want to make sure my form is correct. Thanks!

The rowing directions are on page 22 of your owner's manual. You use the same form you would with any rowing machine. Thank you.

Hi Mike. To achieve a full 600 lbs of resistance when doing leg exercises, make sure the leg cables are hooked up as shown on page 12 of the attached owner's manual and that you have all 300 lbs loaded onto the machine.
